Sugar Plum's 3rd Birthday

November has been a busy month!  There was Thanksgiving, of course, but this month we also celebrated our 9th anniversary and Sugar Plum's 3rd birthday.

Here are some highlights from the woodland fairy and fauna birthday party:

the invitation
hand stamped using stamps from Stampin' Up

the atmosphere
(birthday banner, cupcake toppers, and more are a free download available here)

the food
fairy berries (strawberries from my freezer)
and snails (rolled tortillas with mayo, garlic, parmesan cheese atop pickles sliced in half longways)

nutty trail mix
(I roasted almonds and peanuts, then coated them with a honey and water mixture and baked them in the oven a bit longer,
then once cooled mixed them with dried cranberries and white chocolate chips.)

newspaper flowers

fairy and fauna forest decor
with bird house and bird ornament favors
the favors also included more homemade nutty trail mix and homemade forest scented playdough
(the trees are available as a free printable here and the squirrel, deer, and mushroom are free here)

the cake
made from scratch using a homemade marshmallow fondant
(even the marshmallows were made from scratch!)

owl cupcakes
it's harder than it looks to split Oreos in two with the cream still on
(I filled in the holes with butter cream frosting)

fairy dust cups
(I can't remember where I got this idea from but
the rims of the clear plastic cups are dipped in corn syrup then dipped in colored sugar)
little birthday bunny
printable headbands available free here and masks available here

blowing out the candles

playing hot pinecone

fairy wand and mushroom hunt

fauna fun

  1. Wow!! I can't believe you even MADE the marshmallows for the fondant!! That is SUPER impressive! So did the fairies have fun??

  2. What an awesome party!! Looks like everyone had fun!

Join the conversation, glorify the Lord, proclaim his goodness. I'd love it if you did.
