Tapestry of Grace Year 2 Week 30

We have been learning about American Colonial times.  We've played Blind Man's Buff (yes, "buff", not bluff - buff is the traditional name) in the park, read about Paul Revere and the Boston Tea Party, and yesterday we made corn cob dolls.

We had corn for dinner one night, saved the cobs, husks and silk.

We used the corn cobs as the base of the doll,
then wrapped a corn husk over the top to hold on some hair.

We used corn silk for the hair and secured it once with a corn husk and again with a ribbon.

The girls drew faces on the husk and made clothes using some material scraps.

I think they turned out so cute!
